The Annual General Meeting of the Oval Racing Council was held recently in Edinburgh. The AGM started with the formalities of confirming key positions within the ORCi for the next 12 months.

Mr Steve Rees was re-elected to the appointment of Chairman.

Mr Paul Butler was confirmed as Vice-Chairman again.

Mr Keith Organ was confirmed to the position of Secretary once more.

A meeting of Full Council ORCi members and invited key personnel followed; with a productive, informative and constructive meeting of 6 hours. The Short Oval Community continues to face challenges from a number of factors, but in general the Sport had held up well against the pressures affecting it, particularly the increase in fuel costs and the wider cost of living crisis in 2023. The Full Council meeting focused on reviewing and educating Compliance within the Sport and what can be done within it. The ORCi is fully committed to doing what it can to safe guard the Sport and will be guided by the subject matter experts.
